“Boats in the Sunset” is a deeply personal series inspired by my love for the ocean and the memories rooted in my upbringing in Costa Rica. Growing up, the beach was more than just a place, it was where life slowed down, where laughter with friends and meaningful moments with family naturally unfolded.
Each painting captures a glimpse of those golden-hour memories, the warmth of the sun fading into the horizon, the calm rhythm of the water, and the quiet presence of boats resting or drifting along the shore.
For me, boats are more than objects within a landscape. They represent transition, movement from one season of life to another. They symbolize the journeys we take, the unknown we step into, and the stories we carry with us along the way.
Through this series, I invite the viewer to pause, reflect, and reconnect with their own moments of peace, nostalgia, and transformation, those sunsets in life where something beautiful quietly comes to an end, and something new begins.
